At one of the first major stops on the 'New Paradigm' tour of North America, Shiv Sagar, grandson of Ramanand Sagar, creator of the popular Ramayana television series, spoke about his family's deep respect for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

The New Paradigm tour is dedicated to bringing out the latest knowledge about the correlation between the Vedic literature, in particular the great epic Ramayana, and the structure and function of the human physiology.

The tour stopped in San Francisco, where the featured speaker was Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D, who presented his new book Ramayan in Human Physiology: Discovery of the Eternal Reality of the Ramayan in the Structure and Function of Human Physiology.

In addition, Dr John Hagelin spoke about the physics of Yoga and Yagya—Vedic technologies of consciousness Maharishi brought out and applied for the creation of world peace. Award-winning film director David Lynch gave a concise introduction to Dr Nader's presentation.

The talk by Shiv Sagar had special resonance for the audience, which included many Indo-Americans. His grandfather's epic series on the Ramayana was beloved throughout India and watched by 600 million people worldwide.

Mr Sagar called in and described how Maharishi was revered among his family. According to an organizer of the event, the family was deeply appreciative of Dr Nader's book about the relation between the Ramayana and the human physiology—revealing Veda and the Ramayana as 'blueprints' of the body and the entire universe.

Mr Sagar then played a 10-minute segment from the television series. The scene portrayed a key event in the Ramayana, when his brother Bharat tries to convince Ram not to go to the forest, but to become the ruler of Ayodhya instead of Bharat. This scene naturally was familiar to most of the audience.

An audience member asked if Dr Nader would comment on this scene and its significance in the human physiology. Dr Nader explained the link, citing several anecdotes and giving a detailed analysis of how the various characters and their emotions, speech, relationships and actions represent specific aspects of physiological structure and function.

Another organizer commented, 'The audience loved it. They gave [Dr Nader] several standing ovations. It was a wonderful night.'
