Speaking recently on Maharishi's Global Family Chat, Raja Bob LoPinto, Raja (Administrator) of South Africa for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on the development of programmes in a new east-facing building in Johannesburg, and on Unified Field conferences held in South Africa.

First Raja LoPinto reported that there are 58,600 practitioners of Transcendental Meditation in South Africa, and 2,185 people have been trained in Yogic Flying. 700 Yogic Flyers are needed to achieve national invincibility.

Raja LoPinto praised the leaders of the Global Country of World Peace in South Africa, who he said are truly living embodiments of 'transcendental, silent, while infinitely dynamic and completely blissful, devoted, and unwavering commitment to Maharaja Adhiraj Raja Raam, and to realizing all of Maharishi's vision for the country and the world.' Raja LoPinto said he felt so honoured to be working with all of them.

He also acknowledged and appreciated Dr Benjamin Feldman, Minister of Finance and Planning of the Global Country of World Peace, and Dr Chris and Dr Ann Crowell for their constant care and guidance of the leaders of this country, quietly behind the scenes for many years under Maharishi's guidance.

Raja LoPinto said that the focus they have is to create a group of 1,000 practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, practising together as soon as possible. Along these lines a 'victory team' for Invincible South Africa meets every Thursday in Johannesburg, and excellent help is coming from this group who are 100 per cent devoted to creating an Invincible South Africa.

Seventy Directors have now been appointed in South Africa to offer Dr John Hagelin's* Unified Field conferences on Enlightenment and Invincibility. The first conferences were held in early February in Johannesburg, attended by 26 new Directors representing the national organization, two provinces, and two cities. A Unified Field conference held in a private company was attended by 15 people, mostly practitioners of Transcendental Meditation.

The Directors who have been appointed feel very honoured to have been chosen and are extremely keen to get involved and take the knowledge to the population. 'They are firmly committed to the goal of bringing this precious knowledge, so brilliantly expounded by Raja Hagelin, to its fulfilment: the establishment of permanent Invincibility for the country,' said Raja LoPinto.

'The collective consciousness of South Africa is really crying out for solutions to the problems of crime and political uncertainty, so this presents an open and receptive environment for this knowledge that can so effortlessly bring an entirely new order of peace, stability, enlightenment, and elimination of poverty for this beautiful country. Of course we have no time to lose, we have to move very quickly,' Raja LoPinto said.

The headquarters for establishing all these programmes is being set up in a magnificent eight-storey, east-facing building in downtown Johannesburg. Maharishi said they should create Invincibility for the country from there, and should have 1,000 Yogic Flyers there as soon as possible. Renovations are underway to make the building as functional and attractive as possible.

'Maharishi Invincibility Institute is one of the programmes we have established there, and it is going very well,' Raja LoPinto said. Over 100 new students began the programme in February 2008. All have learned Transcendental Meditation, and this group is now taking the Science of Creative Intelligence course. The total number of students is now 170.

Each morning and afternoon the group practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme has 35 participants and another 135 enjoy group practice of Transcendental Meditation. 'The feeling is very good, very blissful in the building. By July it is planned to have another 100 Yogic Flyers from this group, and another hundred in six months time.'

Two of the teachers who have been teaching Transcendental Meditation to the new participants of the programme are graduates from the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course held recently in South Africa.

The Maharishi University of Management MBA Distance Education programme will be launched later in the year from this building. A PhD student in Management from Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, has arrived in South Africa to assist in setting this up.

Maharishi Invincibility School of Management is currently going through the final stage of registration. This is a secondary school that will start in January 2009 at this facility.

'So we're doing everything possible—all of course on the inspiration that Maharishi gave to the leaders there in South Africa to fill this building with educational programmes, to fill it with Yogic Flyers, and to create 1,000 Yogic Flyers there as soon as possible,' said Raja LoPinto.
