Study confirms Bolivian Indigenous park as stronghold for horned curassow

On 22 April 2023 Mongabay reported: The critically endangered horned curassow is a bird found only in three protected areas in Bolivia, where it plays an important role in dispersing seeds across the forest. Inside Bolivia's Isiboro Secure National Park and Indigenous Territory (TIPNIS), conservationists from Asociacion Armonia rigged up a network of nine camera traps and 15 audio recorders. 'The area is truly the last refuge of habitat in good condition for this species.'
