Students and faculty at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA recently had the opportunity to enjoy a course in Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture taught by international expert Dr Peter Swan.
Dr Swan travelled to the US to teach the 16 lesson course entitled Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture: Key to global sustainability.
Twenty students and eight faculty members participated in the course, which was offered as part of the university's Forest Academy.*
'It's been such a joy to dive deep into the knowledge of how agriculture ''agrees with the culturing intelligence''** more and more as it becomes Vedic Organic Agriculture,' Dr Swan said, speaking on 24 February.
The local radio station KHOE featured an interview with Dr Peter Swan and Maharishi Vedic Garden Design expert Dr Susie Swan. Maharishi University of Management dean of faculty Cathy Gorini conducted the interview. They discussed Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture, Vedic Garden Design, and support for peace-creating groups of Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India—which has been formally organized in 33 countries around the world.
In the coming days, Global Good News will continue to feature Dr Swan's report about Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture, the course, and the radio interview.
* Each two-week Forest Academy course is an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of their own personal growth. Topics include skill in action, higher states of consciousness, cultural values, mind and body, creativity, collective consciousness, and world peace.
** Dr Swan is referring to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's description of the ideal agricultural system realized through Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture: agreeing with the culturing intelligence of total Natural Law present in the soil, the seeds, the environment, and the consciousness of the farmer.
