On 14 January 2005 Sauce Magazine reported: This winter, St Louis cooks can rely on the availability of weekly deliveries of fresh, home-grown, certified organic vegetables from the Maharishi World Peace Vedic Organic Farm in Missouri. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of environment.

Reporter Pat Eby interviewed Gary Greenfield who is the marketing manager for MWPV Organics. The article describes the benefits of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture. Eby points out that with over 100,000 square feet of greenhouse space for growing their vegetables, which are pesticide and herbicide free, as well as grown without synthetic fertilizers or genetically modified materials, the real uniqueness of the farm is 'the commitment of the people who work there to conscious living, to creating harmony in their little acreage of the world'.

Eby describes the use of Gandharva Ved, the music of Nature, which is played for the plants, enlivening Laws of Nature specific to the time of day. Also, the employees (some of whom do not yet practise Maharishi's technologies of consciousness) are given explicit instructions to keep a positive mindset when they are working with the plants.

Produce from the farm meets all standards of the US Department of Agriculture organic certification, and also sticks to the principles of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture. Greenfield explains, 'Veda means pure knowledge. Finding the fullest potential of a seed—blurring the line between the person and the plants, realizing the intelligence of the systems involved—what we do is nurture harmony. We honour the interdependent nature of our world.' He says that the vegetables are exceptional in taste, nutrition and vitality.

St. Louisans are fortunate to be able to sign up for the Community Supported Agriculture subscription service whereby 10-12 lbs of Vedic Organic vegetables are delivered to a designated site where customers can pick them up. The current choice of produce varies, dependent upon maturity of plants in the greenhouses and the open fields during the growing season. For further details, individuals can contact the farm at: MWPV Organics, Maharishi World Peace Vedic Organic Farm, 26111 Capital Hill Road, Farmington, Missouri 573.756.7846

or fax to 573.756.1462 or e-mail to VedicOrganicSales@earthlink.net.
