Momentum of progress developing for initiatives to benefit First Nations: Global Mother Divine Organization-Canada

Leaders of the Global Mother Divine Organization* in Canada continue to meet with First Nations women leaders, presenting the organization's programmes to promote development of consciousness, improve education and health care, and help restore cultural integrity in First Nations communities.

Following the very successful symposium presentations on Pathways to Global Health through Indigenous Knowledge—held during the recent 17th Annual Canadian Conference on Global Health in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada—GMDO leaders were invited to address the Assembly of First Nations Women's Council in December.

The purpose of the meeting was to build relations between these women's organizations and to speak about the programmes of the Global Mother Divine Organization (GMDO). Present were two women Chiefs, two women Elders, and other First Nations women leaders with a high level of responsibility.

The event was held on the Algonquin Nation Traditional Territory. The Council women were very interested in learning the Transcendental Meditation Programme. Several identified areas of need for GMDO programmes in their communities, including in schools and for women suffering from trauma resulting from residential school stress. At the conclusion of the successful meeting, GMDO received an invitation to speak to women in the Yukon at an upcoming meeting. Many other invitations for followup were extended.

The Global Mother Divine Organization–Canada will continue to build on these achievements and offer its support in every way. The organization looks forward to fruitful collaboration with the AFN Women's Council, to address the many pressing issues facing their communities. Most important is the timely initiative to establish invincibility groups—large coherence-creating groups of Yogic Flyers—within First Nations communities, to promote healthy, harmonious, and prosperous community life based on a solid foundation of coherence and happiness.

GMDO–Canada leaders also note that restoring cultural integrity of First Nations communities in Canada was an important element in programmes developed for the country by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and the Global Country of World Peace. The organization organized to sponsor three National Yagya** performances, with the purpose of fulfilling Maharishi's intention for the nation; GMDO leaders appreciate the increasing momentum of progress which is developing through these various initiatives with First Nations women leaders across Canada.

This news was featured in a presentation of GMDO–Canada's achievements of the past year, along with continuing initiatives and new plans for 2011, during the global Full Moon celebration on 19 January—a continuing session of the Global Mother Divine Organization's 12 January celebrations in MERU, Holland.
