To preserve the wisdom of the Vedic Tradition of knowledge, Maharishi established Maharishi Ved Vigyan Vishwa Vidyapeetham schools around India where nearly 127,000 Vedic pandits have been learning Vedic recitation and Yagya performance. Subsequently, UNESCO had declared the oral tradition of Vedic chanting to be an intangible heritage of humanity and has encouraged the preservation and revitalization of this ancient tradition.
