In one of the world's 'hottest hotspots' of biodiversity, an all-female team have turned a patch of forest into a haven for orchids, ferns, succulents, and carnivorous plants.
Global Good News service views this news as a sign of rising positivity in the fields of science and environment, documenting the growth of life-supporting, evolutionary trends.
At the Gurukula botanical sanctuary, where Laly Joseph, 56, is head of plant conservation and the most experienced 'rainforest gardener', every plant is considered precious and an all-female team strives to give them the best chance of surviving an increasingly harsh climate.

The Gurukula botanical sanctuary is part of the mountain range but the tiny enclave is a refuge for up to 40 percent of all plant species found in the entire Western Ghats.
