''Gather the Women, Transform the World''
Many of us have had the desire to make a real contribution to our world, but may have lacked the confidence, the opportunity, or the support to do so.
Liberian Nobel Peace Laureate, Leymah Gbowee, faced these same kinds of challenges until she found within herself a reservoir of strength and resolve. Her unwavering determination enabled her to transform her desire for peace into impactful action that ended the violent 14-year civil war in Liberia, and changed the destiny of her nation.
Empowered by the vision of women's role as peace creators, Ms. Gbowee inspired 2,500 Liberian women to join her courageous, and ultimately successful, peace efforts—efforts that were acknowledged and honored with the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize.
Join TM Women Thursday, April 29 at 1:00 pm US Eastern Daylight Time, to hear Leymah speak about her life-changing experiences and her current vision to create opportunities for women to transform the world.
