A village of small, modular homes of various sizes, designed according to Maharishi Vastu Architecture,* is now being planned for Fairfield, Iowa, USA. This ''micro-village'' will have both homes and multi-unit buildings. All units so far are in the 400-800 sf (37-48 sq.m) range, and studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom configurations are planned.
Options give flexibility in design, additional space or even a second story. Some of the amenities include common gardens and park space as well as vegetable production, energy efficiency with thick wall construction, solar panels, rain gardens and a possible retail/common space. The site that is being planned has the 16-mile Fairfield bike/walking trail running directly in front of it.
Living in a community of Maharishi Vastu homes brings a stronger effect of positivity, protection, coherence and happiness to all who live there. This experience has been reported over and over in Vastu communities around the globe. The intention of the planners of this micro-village is to offer these homes and apartments for rent or sale to singles and couples, young families and retirees at the lowest possible price.
