People in the Caribbean who practise Transcendental Meditation have been inspired by rapidly unfolding developments of the programme throughout Latin America. Transcendental Meditation teachers have been reporting about large groups of students, military, and security forces in Central and South American countries who have learned to meditate.
These groups are now practising Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques, including Yogic Flying, together, which scientific research has shown to reduce crime and violence and increase coherence in collective consciousness. Their daily group practice is creating a powerful upsurge of harmony and positivity for the whole continent.
To promote a similar rise of social coherence across their region, Caribbean meditators have begun coordinating the times of their daily practice of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's peace-creating technologies of consciousness.
In another step of progress, nine people from the Caribbean are headed to South America to take the specialized, intensive course of training to be certified as Transcendental Meditation teachers.
A group with technological expertise has developed an initiative on Facebook® to bring Maharishi's programmes to more people in Trinidad and Tobago, an island nation off the coast of Venezuela. This has led to an increase in the number of people learning Transcendental Meditation in the country.
The Transcendental Meditation programme in Trinidad and Tobago has acquired a building which will be used for several purposes, including group meditations. It will also house a Maharishi Ayur-Veda health clinic, and will be the venue for introductory lectures to local first responders.
