Several initiatives to promote the rise of unity and harmony in Europe have taken place in the past year, applying Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Invincible Defence Technology through various programmes and events in different countries.

Maharishi's Invincible Defence programme is designed to reduce violence and conflict, and increase coherence and positivity in the collective consciousness of society, through the group practise of Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques. Lt Col (Ret.) Gunter Chassé, an international expert in Maharishi's Invincible Defence Technology, recently reported on these developments in Europe.

Belgium is a hub for European activity. In Brussels a coherence-creating group of advanced meditators has been established in two adjacent, dignified city-centre buildings near the institutions of the European Union, to support the rise of unity and stability on the continent.

Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, paid a visit to the first European Maharishi Peace Palace in Erfurt, Germany. At the time of Dr Morris's visit, construction on the Peace Palace was nearly complete; the building was formally inaugurated in October 2012.

The building is designed to be a centre for Transcendental Meditation and related programmes that will radiate harmony in the whole surrounding community. The directors of the project in Erfurt—as well as many Transcendental Meditation teachers throughout Europe—feel that this will be the first of many such structures on the continent.

Monthly 'Invincible Europe' days were launched, with the focal point at Maharishi European Research University (MERU), Netherlands. On the first Invincible Europe day, 550 participants at 165 locations in 16 countries throughout Europe were connected to MERU by telephone conference, forming a 'continental peace network', Lt Col Chassé said.

At an international conference on physiology and consciousness in Bucharest, Romania, a team that included Dr Nicolae Stoian, director of the Transcendental Meditation programme in Romania, and Lt Col Chassé presented a talk on a strategic approach to increasing coherence and positivity in society, thus disallowing enemies to arise. This is Maharishi's Consciousness-Based approach to national security and defence, called Invincible Defence, Lt Col Chassé explained. The speakers discussed the importance of training a group to practise Transcendental Meditation and its advanced programmes, to automatically create the necessary level of societal coherence to 'prevent the birth of an enemy'.

Dr István Dienes, a renowned Hungarian physicist who is also a Transcendental Meditation teacher, addressed the conference on the Unified Field of all the laws of nature as the basis of invincibility* for every nation. Held in a military hospital in Bucharest, the conference attracted military medical students, doctors, other military leaders, and guests from related fields, and was very well received.

Other achievements in Europe from Croatia, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Norway, Poland, and Russia include increases in the number of people learning Transcendental Meditation, larger World Peace Assemblies (conferences for advanced Transcendental Meditation practitioners), and increasing support for coherence-creating groups of Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India.

The Pandits are also experts in applying another important Vedic technology to create invincible, permanent peace for nations: Maharishi Yagya performances. Every day a large group performs a special Yagya for global peace and harmony; in the past year over 1,000 national Yagyas were also performed, on behalf of many different countries, including those in Europe.

* Maharishi's principle of invincibility arising through the creation of coherent, harmonious national consciousness, means strengthening the nation against any negative or potentially disruptive influences from outside or within. Invincible Defence prevents the birth of an enemy so that fighting is not necessary anymore; this makes the nation invincible.
