A recent review of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Invincible Defence programmes in many countries gave special recognition to three 'great pillars of coherence' for the world—India, Latin America, the United States.
In each of these regions, Lt Col (Ret.) Gunter Chassé explained, very large groups daily practise Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques, reducing stress, violence, and conflict, and creating an influence of peace, unity, and harmony in the whole collective consciousness. India also has a special role as the seat of programmes for the creation of peace on a global scale.
These are key applications of Maharishi's Invincible Defence Technology, in which Lt Col Chassé, a retired, decorated officer in the German Air Force with nearly 40 years of military service, is an international expert.
In Latin America thousands of students in the military and security forces have learned these technologies of consciousness and are practising together daily. In one country there is a large group of 8,000, as well as another thousand comprising groups in various schools and universities. All together, these and groups in other countries are generating a powerful influence of coherence and positivity in collective consciousness sufficient for the whole continent.
In the United States, a large national coherence-creating group of nearly 2,000 advanced Transcendental Meditation practitioners meditates together twice a day. This size of this group—located in Fairfield and Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, and known collectively as the Invincible America Assembly—is intended to exceed the square root of one per cent** of the population of the United States, and thus will be sufficient to create the Maharishi Effect of coherence for the whole nation. Included in this group are nearly 1,000 specially trained Maharishi Vedic Pandits (peace-creating experts) from India.
The David Lynch Foundation, among its many programmes helping at-risk groups throughout the United States and around the world, continues to bring relief to US military veterans who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The US Department of Defense last year awarded a grant of $2.3 million to Maharishi University of Management and a veterans medical centre to further research the effectiveness of using Transcendental Meditation to treat PTSD.
In the past year Dr David Leffler, Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Military Science, published over 100 articles worldwide on Invincible Defence Technology.
India is a major coherence-creating centre for Asia and the world. A group of several thousand Maharishi Vedic Pandits is in residence on a campus at the Brahmasthan (geographic centre) of the nation, creating coherence through their daily advanced meditation practice.
The Pandits are also experts in applying another important Vedic technology to create invincible, permanent peace for nations: Maharishi Yagya* performances. Every day a large group performs a Yagya designed to promote global peace and harmony. In 2012 they also conducted nearly 1,500 national Yagyas for countries around the world.
In schools and universities throughout India more than 100,000 students practise Transcendental Meditation, contributing to national coherence.

* Maharishi Yagyas are precise Vedic performances, conducted by Maharishi Vedic Pandits, to create specific life-supporting influences for individuals and nations from the field of pure consciousness, the field of total natural law, which is enlivened in the Pandits' consciousness through their daily practice of Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques.
**The formula identified by scientists as the threshold for creating increased coherence and peace throughout a society.
