''A beautiful thing to have a human mind, and this technique to unfold its full potential'' - David Lynch at UK benefit gala

5 January 2013
As the gala evening continued at the David Lynch Foundation UK's first benefit event, the organization's founder, filmmaker David Lynch, connecting via Skype from a film festival in Poland, took wide-ranging questions from the audience.
He explained that consciousness creates the brain, rather than the brain creates consciousness; and that not everyone uses the same amount of their potential—the key to unlocking full potential for everyone is to transcend through the technique of Transcendental Meditation, opening the door to unbounded awareness, infinite intelligence, infinite happiness, infinite love.
Every other experience in life only utilises part of the brain—mathematics one part, painting a picture another part—but transcending harnesses the whole of the brain, he explained.
''It's a beautiful thing to have a human mind, and this technique to unfold its full potential.''
Asked to comment about potential world transformations in 2012 [the gala was held in late November], he said that he thinks the world will be transformed whenever we achieve large peace-creating groups practising Transcendental Meditation and the advanced TM-Sidhi programme, a situation which is rapidly becoming a reality all around the world and in which the Foundation is playing its role.
David also greeted James McCartney, who with his band delighted the audience with performances at the beginning and end of the evening.
''We really appreciate James's support for the mission of the David Lynch Foundation,'' added DLF-UK Chairman Dr Peter Warburton.
