Transcendental Meditation increasingly popular in France
by Global Good News staff writer

23 July 2012
During the past year the number of people who learned Transcendental Meditation in France increased substantially—by almost 50 per cent, said Dominique Lemoine, director of the programme in that country.
In the first half of 2012, the same number of people learned the technique as in the whole of the previous year, he said.
In addition, a large number of people who already practise Transcendental Meditation are participating in its advanced techniques and other related programmes. Over 200 people enjoyed treatments of Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems in the past year.
One of the great successes of the year in France has been the establishment of the Veda Club. Located in the centre of Paris, the Veda Club, with its proper orientation according to Maharishi Vastu architecture and a 100 square metre courtyard, has become a central hub for Parisians to practise the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme, including Yogic Flying, in a group.
Arrangements are being made to enable more people to join in this regular group practice, which scientific research has shown to produce an influence of coherence and harmony in the society. This effect of coherence was also magnified by a national in-residence World Peace Assembly, in which over 100 advanced meditators created, through their extended group meditations, a peaceful, harmonious influence for the country.
A highlight of the World Peace Assembly was a special presentation by Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, during his recent visit to France. Among many interesting aspects, the group especially enjoyed Dr Morris's review and slides of his 14-country tour of Africa earlier in the year. He also visited the Veda Club in Paris.
The French translation of the short 16-hour course in Self-Pulse Reading is now available, and the translation of the Maharishi Yoga Asanas short course will be soon. Science of Being and Art of Living, the classic book by Maharishi, first published in 1963, which has reached millions of readers around the world, had been out of print in France for some years, and was expected to be available in all French-speaking countries by this autumn.
People in France have increased their support for the large group of Maharishi Vedic Pandits—experts in Maharishi's technologies of consciousness to create world peace—in residence at the centre, or Brahmasthan, of India. The Pandits have been performing special Maharishi Yagyas* on behalf of the nation once or twice each month. Dr Lemoine credits the Pandits' performances with producing a positive effect in France, reflected among other expressions in increasing participation in Maharishi's programmes in the country.
At the time of Dr Lemoine's report, there were also plans to invite Dr Tony Nader, MD, PhD, to come to France to discuss his new book, Ramayan in Human Physiology. Dr Nader was honoured by Maharishi as Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, with responsibility for guiding the Global Country of World Peace. In the near future the book will be translated into French.
* Maharishi Yagyas are precise Vedic performances, conducted by Maharishi Vedic Pandits, to create specific life-supporting influences for individuals, nations, and the world from the field of pure consciousness, the field of total natural law, which is enlivened in the Pandits' consciousness through their daily practice of Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques.
