3 July 2012
As of early July, the number of Maharishi Vedic Pandits in residence at the Global Capital of World Peace* in the Brahmasthan (geographical centre) of India had reached 2,311.
'We hope that by the end of this month we'll have crossed 2,500,' said Dr Girish C Varma,** Director-General of the Global Capital, reporting on progress at the Brahmasthan. 'We have made all arrangements so that this number now doesn't fall—so it continues, and we keep on increasing until the first phase, reaching about 3,500,' is achieved.
The establishment of this large group of Pandits at the Brahmasthan is central to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programme to create world peace, through their daily practice of Maharishi's peace-creating technologies of consciousness—Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques, as well as Maharishi Yagyas, precise Vedic performances to create specific life-supporting influences for individuals and nations.
Reaching 3,500 Vedic Pandits at the Brahmasthan, Dr Varma explained, will be a significant milestone—it is the threshold number practising the advanced Yogic Flying technique together that is required to create a powerful influence of coherence and harmony for all of India.
This will lay the foundation for the next phase—to increase the group of Vedic Pandits there to 9,000—the number established by Maharishi to sustain an invincible state of permanent peace for the whole world.
It was 'thrilling to hear' about the constantly rising number of Maharishi Vedic Pandits at the Brahmasthan, commented Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, adding the news that the number of Yagyas conducted by the Pandits this month on behalf of specific nations had reached an all-time record—a great accomplishment for the world.
Dr Varma also reported that construction of the historic Maharishi Smarak is progressing well. The Maharishi Smarak is a grand and beautiful memorial of Total Knowledge, commemorating Maharishi's 50 years lifelong work bringing out the complete value of Vedic knowledge and technologies in every area of life, for the benefit of mankind.
The Maharishi Smarak is situated at Prayag (Allahabad), at the auspicious confluence (Sangam) of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, which is called Tirth Raj Prayag, Dr Varma said. 'More than 80% of the stone carving work is done; and erection of columns, casting beams and roof work is being completed now. The Smarak is planned to be ready by the end of December this year, or by mid-January 2013' at the latest; the inauguration is planned in February 2013, during the great Maha Kumbh Mela festival.
