In the past year, 44,752 people have learned Transcendental Meditation in India. In addition, 6,040 learned the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme, including Yogic Flying.
In other news reported by Dr Girish C Varma,* director of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes throughout India, 15 Yoga asana camps were organized, and many thousands of participants have adopted a new daily routine incorporating these Yogic practices which are beneficial for health, well-being, and spiritual development.
A course to train teachers of Transcendental Meditation was completed, with a new course set to begin near the end of July. Around that time another course will start, to train administrators of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme.
The Maharishi Corporate Development Programme conducted 23 courses, training 581 participants including chairmen, managing directors, and top-level officers of Fortune companies in India.
One year ago Mahamedia, a national social magazine, was launched, with the 13th edition being published at the time of Dr Varma's report on 3 July. Mahamedia magazine is circulated to over 200 cities in 25 states, and in the short span of one year, circulation has increased to over 100,000 readers. 'Mahamedia has received a large number of appreciative letters from readers, expressing their gratitude for the life-supporting Vedic knowledge' and technologies brought to the world by Maharishi, Dr Varma said.
Through their daily meditation practice and teaching of Maharishi's technologies of consciousness, all of these people, courses, and new developments have been contributing to the rise of coherence and positivity in the nation--and supporting Maharishi's initiatives for India to be a lighthouse of peace and enlightenment for the world.
