'Maharishi Yagya performances constitute one of the most important instruments to counteract negative trends and influences in the country and to bring stability to society during major transformations,' said the coordinator of a special series of these peace-creating programmes that began recently for the world.

Yagyas are ancient precise performances by specially trained Maharishi Vedic Pandits of India, which create specific life-supporting influences from the field of pure consciousness, the source of Natural Law, in the lives of individuals and nations.

These Yagyas act as a powerful counterbalance to negativity, the coordinator explained. They can help avert undesirable circumstances and enhance the success of any undertaking, because they are the performance of total Natural Law, which is much more powerful than any destructive power that exists in the world.

He went on to describe particular Yagyas that are performed for the world—meaning the effect of the Yagyas is not limited to an individual nation, but is intended for the benefit of all countries.

The first such Yagya was performed from 26 January to 5 February for the purpose of promoting coherence in world consciousness. The second was performed during the same time period, but focused on helping to avert natural disasters in the world.

Meanwhile, a global Maharishi Yagya for the world started 1 February and is continuing until 1 March.

The coordinator of these global Yagyas went on to explain more about their history.

'Since ancient times, Vedic Pandits have been performing Yagyas and applying this Vedic technology to eliminate problems for individuals and for society.'

He also described the role Yagyas can play in today's society:

'Today, through the application of Vedic knowledge, large groups of Maharishi Vedic Pandits can create the foundation on which any government can successfully rule society in peace.'

These groups of Vedic Pandits, through their performance of Yagyas, 'create influences beyond the small boundaries of the place, influences which extend to all the countries [of the world]'.
