Saturday, 11 February 2012 marked an important new stage in the unfoldment of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programme to create permanent peace in the world. For the first time in 12 years, 1,331 Maharishi Vedic Pandits in residence at the Global Capital of World Peace in the Brahmasthan (geographical centre) of India performed Ati Rudrabhhishek, a special Vedic peace-creating performance for world peace.

Today's historic performance of Ati Rudrabhishek was held in the presence of a great spiritual leader who is revered throughout India, His Holiness Vasudevanand Saraswati Maharaj, Bhagwan Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math.

This and other Vedic technologies of consciousness, known as Maharishi Yagyas, are precise Vedic performances to create specific life-supporting influences for individuals and nations.

Vedic recitation and performances, which are derived from the timeless tradition of Vedic wisdom, have been declared by UNESCO as 'an intangible heritage of humanity'.

These procedures have been restored to their complete effectiveness by Maharishi, and his establishment of the peace-creating group of Pandits at the Global Capital has been hailed as one of the crowning achievements of his 50 years lifelong work to create enlightenment for individuals and invincible, permanent peace for every nation and the world.

Before today's four-hour performance began, Dr Girish Varma, Director-General of the Global Capital at the Brahmasthan, explained that daily performance of these technologies by large groups of Pandits at the Brahmasthan and in other locations forms a central element in Maharishi's programme to create world peace.

The Maharishi Vedic Pandits have been specially trained over many years and are experts in employing Maharishi's Vedic technologies to enliven a powerful influence of coherence, harmony, and peace in collective consciousness. They accomplish this from the field of pure consciousness, the unified field of total Natural Law at the foundation of the universe—a field of infinite peace. This universal field is enlivened in the Pandits' consciousness through their daily practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying.

The group of Pandits at the Brahmasthan has been performing Rudrabhishek every day for several years. The group has been steadily increasing, and there are now enough Pandits to make it possible to perform Ati Rudrabhishek, the most powerful level.

Dr Varma explained that this is part of Maharishi's plan to amplify the effect by having three Ati Rudrabhishek performances by 1,331 Vedic Pandits every day at the Brahmasthan—amounting to over 1,000 Ati Rudrabhishek in the course of a year.

Dr Varma explained that the Sankalp, the resolution for the performance is to reestablish Raam Raj—administration through Natural Law—'where there is no suffering at any time for humanity for all time to come, for all generations to come, and a heavenly life on earth.'

The Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math is also Patron of the Brahmanand Saraswati Trust, the organization Maharishi established in January 2008 to secure permanent peace and invincibility for the world by perpetually supporting groups of Maharishi Vedic Pandits throughout India and around the world.

The Shankaracharya also addressed the assembly before today's Ati Rudrabhishek performance began, praising Maharishi's achievements and expressing his Sankalp for the performance. Global Good News will report on the Shankaracharya's address.

Dr Varma and other organizers of Maharishi's programmes in India, with support from well-wishers of peace around the world, are working with great dedication to build up the group of Maharishi Vedic Pandits at the Brahmasthan to 16,000, with smaller groups of Pandits at 48 other centres throughout India, as well as establishing groups in many countries.

The day before the performance, Dr Howard and Dr Alice Settle were honoured for their leadership and generous support of Maharishi's initiatives for world peace, which have made it possible to sustain and expand the groups of Maharishi Vedic Pandits at the Brahmasthan of India, and in Maharishi Vedic City in Iowa, USA, part of the Invincible America Assembly.
