Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in New Zealand are utilizing the latest technologies to make introductory information on the technique easily available to people all over the country, even if they don't live near a teaching centre.
Transcendental Meditation is the most thoroughly researched self-improvement technique with hundreds of scientific studies conducted in 33 countries. It is taught through a standard seven-step process all over the world. The first step is hearing an introductory presentation on the benefits of the practice.
Now people who are interested in learning more about the meditation programme in New Zealand have the option to watch an introductory video from the comfort of their own home.
A few videos were produced for this purpose—a 15-minute introduction and some shorter 6-minute videos which will be put on YouTube. The longer video provides a comprehensive introduction to Transcendental Meditation, covering the technique's effects on mental potential, health, social relations, and world peace.
The videos were all produced in New Zealand by volunteers who are experts in editing and filming with high-definition cameras. The videos feature practitioners of Transcendental Meditation from New Zealand, and beautiful scenery in different parts of the country. They also feature medical doctors endorsing the technique and its positive impact on mental and physical health.
The actual course of learning Transcendental Meditation takes place in four sessions with a qualified teacher over four days, beginning with personal instruction and then three followup meetings. After hearing an introductory presentation, a second lecture gives a more indepth understanding of the mechanics of the practice, how it differs from other techniques, and related topics. Then one can have a personal interview with the teacher and sign up to learn.
Transcendental Meditation teachers hope this new development will increase the convenience for people who are interested in the technique, so they can learn basic information about Transcendental Meditation whenever their schedule allows. They can even sign up online for instruction and the nearest teacher will then contact them.
