The third annual 'Change Begins Within' benefit gala in Los Angeles in December celebrated the success of the David Lynch Foundation's national and global initiatives aimed at helping children and adults overcome the crippling influence of traumatic stress and transform their lives from within.

On a night full of brilliant presentations, one especially interesting and delightful exchange occurred when British comedian and actor Russell Brand interviewed renowned quantum physicist Dr John Hagelin, president of the David Lynch Foundation.

Towards the end of the first part of the evening, the irrepressible Mr Brand asked the audience, 'How could we consider this evening complete without my interviewing a quantum physicist?' He started by asking Dr Hagelin, 'Why on earth are you, a quantum physicist, even here on a night when we're talking about Transcendental Meditation?'

The following video captures the ensuing lively and witty discussion about the science behind the Transcendental Meditation technique, including the possibility of creating world peace.
