A research project is underway in Adelaide, Australia, on the use of the Transcendental Meditation Technique for improving the quality of life for dementia patients. The study is in conjunction with the University of South Australia. This is the first such medical study on Transcendental Meditation in this part of Australia.
Adelaide has had an established Transcendental Meditation centre for years. In the past year, a new website was created, generating a new level of attention and interest in the meditation technique, scientific research showing its benefits in reducing stress and improving health, and related programmes. The website will continue to be refined in 2012 for optimization.
A new website was also created in Melbourne, another Australian city with a long-established Transcendental Meditation centre. The website proved functional and attractive, leading to many inquiries and contributing to a remarkable increase in people learning the Transcendental Meditation Technique, teachers of the programme said.
These new developments were among many during 2011 throughout the country that brought expanding growth and popularity of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, said teachers, reporting that it was a very active year.
