Vastu architecture reflects the orderliness of the laws of nature that govern the cosmos

5 January 2012
The wholeness of Natural Law gives rise to creation through the sequential, orderly unfoldment of specific laws of nature, said Dr Christian Schweizer, continuing his recent lecture on particular principles that uphold beauty in Vastu architecture. Order is fundamental to nature and is present in all its expressions.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said that Sthapatya Veda (Vedic or Vastu architecture) creates order in nature, Dr Schweizer said. The most orderly structure is the square—it is the strongest shape and is highly symmetrical. According to the science of Vastu, a grid of energy lines envelops the earth and these lines connect with solar, lunar, and stellar influences.
The layout of a Vastu building is geometrically designed in squares or rectangles that are congruent with the earth's grid, and in this way living in Vastu is maintained in harmony with all the laws of nature that govern the cosmos. At the centre of a Vastu building is the square of the Brahmasthan—the seat of wholeness, where the totality of Natural Law resides.
In Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, the overall design of an individual house and garden and of a whole city is built up in concentric squares, in the same way that all of existence is built in layers: the whole universe, clusters of galaxies, galaxies, the milky way, the solar system, the sun, earth, continents, countries, governments, heads of state, individuals, organs, cells, molecules, atoms and sub-atomic particles.
Global Good News will continue to feature this article, which is based on Dr Schweizer's lecture.
