The Global Mother Divine Organization* (GMDO) in Vietnam has been very active through the past year in inspiring the steady growth of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and Consciousness-Based Education in the country, as well as offering GMDO programmes for women.
Since Transcendental Meditation was introduced in Vietnam in June 2009, two Vietnamese women have become Teachers of the technique, joining Dr Aileen Foo, a Teacher from Malaysia, in offering courses and other teaching activities. There are now 200 people practising Transcendental Meditation in Vietnam, a country of 90 million.
A Transcendental Meditation company is now legally registered in Vietnam and has established a local website for web-based marketing programmes.
A prestigious university in Ho Chi Minh City with about 500 students is inspired to implement the Transcendental Meditation Programme and open a Department for the Science of Creative Intelligence.
The one-pointed focus of the Global Mother Divine Organization in the country is to bring Consciousness-Based Education to Vietnam, with the collaboration of UNESCO and Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.
During the global celebration of Victory Day in October, two local Transcendental Meditation Teachers raised the Flag of the Global Country of World Peace. The collective wish of all the participants was for permanent peace, perfect health, prosperity, and invincibility for the 90 million people of Vietnam.
In September, Maharishi Vedic Experts taught Advanced Techniques of Transcendental Meditation in Vietnam for the first time. The 29 Meditators who took the course have greatly enjoyed the benefits of practising these techniques, and many have requested further courses.
Women who practise Transcendental Meditation found it very fulfilling to participate in a Residence Course for ladies at Ba Thuong Resort, Cu Chi. They enjoyed the opportunity for extended practice of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, gaining knowledge of Maharishi Ayur-Veda natural health care and higher states of consciousness, and discussing their experiences during meditation, in the soft, blissful atmosphere of the all-ladies' course.
This news was featured in a presentation of GMDO–Vietnam's achievements of the past year, along with new initiatives and plans for 2011, during the global Full Moon celebration on 19 January—a continuing session of the Global Mother Divine Organization's 12 January celebrations in MERU, Holland.
Global Good News will continue to feature more news of achievements of GMDO in Asia and other countries around the world.
* The Global Mother Divine Organization was founded in December 2007 as the women's wing of the Global Country of World Peace, currently active in 86 countries and rapidly expanding to include 192 countries of the world. In the ancient Vedic tradition of India, the expression 'Mother Divine' refers to the universal, all-nourishing qualities of nature—bliss, intelligence, creativity, harmony—that promote life in the direction of peace and progress.
