On 8 February the Global Country of World Peace celebrated the auspicious day of Vasant Panchami in the Vedic Calendar—celebrating Maha Saraswati, the administering intelligence of Natural Law representing the qualities of wisdom, knowledge, and enlightenment. The celebration, held at the International Capital of the Global Country in MERU, Holland, connected via video conference with the Global Capital of World Peace at the Brahmasthan (geographical centre) of India, featured special Vedic performances by Maharishi Vedic Pandits in both locations.

A great highlight was the video replay of a beautiful address by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, on this occasion in 2007. Maharishi said,

'Administration of a nation is administered by the collective consciousness of the nation. It is the collective consciousness that administers a nation. Everywhere we find, for centuries in the past, administration of any nation was not satisfactory.' Now, through the Vedic Pandits' recitations in today's celebration, Maharishi said, we have 'insight into the mechanics of administration. Government is governed by the collective consciousness. When we want government administration to be successful so that everyone is living life on the top of efficiency, [and] perfect health, peace, prosperity prevail in every nation, then we have to improve the quality of collective consciousness.'

Through the knowledge from the Vedic tradition, Maharishi said, 'we have established a principle of improving collective consciousnesss of every nation, and that is with these Vedic performances through the Yagyas, and Yogic performances through the Yogic Flyers.*'

We want to create, Maharishi said, 'our world free from suffering—every nation in perfect health, every nation on the level of invincibility. That is the task before us.' The Global Country of World Peace, Maharishi said, would set out to establish groups of Yogic Flyers and Maharishi Vedic Pandits performing Yagyas in as many countries as possible, as soon as possible.

After the conclusion of Maharishi's address, Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country, gave a profound commentary. Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, honoured by Maharishi as First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, also addressed the celebration, giving reflections on the day.
