The grand, day-long global celebration of the Festival of Lights on 5 November 2010 continued in the Golden Dome at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. The Festival of Lights, Dipavali, celebrates the day of Mahalakshmi—the day of celebrating and enlivening the qualities of abundance, affluence, and fulfilment inherent in the structure of Natural Law, for every individual and every nation.
Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace and President of MUM, noted that US President Obama celebrated Dipavali in the White House last year, and would again this year in India, during his current Asian tour.

The assembly enjoyed the video of an address by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, on the Festival of Lights in 2003. Maharishi commented on the programmes of the Global Country of World Peace to promote 'ideal administration in every country, and practical programmes for the individual to rise to full enlightenment, and for every nation to rise to full dignity of human life'.
Maharishi said, 'We are proud to give to the world this day, the day of the Festival of Light—enlightenment to the individual, and enlightenment to every nation. Heaven on Earth is our offer to our dear world, and we will see how soon our organizations are capable of eliminating poverty in the world, and bringing success to the wealthy. The success of life of anyone, poor or wealthy, is in living the cosmic dignity on the individual thinking, speaking, behaviour, and that the government of peace is going to organize.'
Maharishi expressed pride in the discovery of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, honoured by Maharishi as First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace—'of consciousness as the basis of all the physical diverse creation. On that level of knowledge, we are proud of establishing the Constitution of the Universe in our governmental organizations in the world.
'Whatever has been the past, we don't have to remember it because the past is gone, the dark nights are over, and now we have the dawn of a new civilization, a perfect civilization', Maharishi said. Everyone will live the full dignity of the Constitution of the Universe in his social life, in his national life, in his international life. This is the programme of the administration of the Global Country of World Peace.
'Now is the time for the full dignity of the Constitution of the Universe to be on the level of feeling of the individual, on the level of thinking, speaking, behaving, and on the level of silence within the self-referral intelligence of the individual.' We have opened a new fortune for all mankind, Maharishi said, and this is the blessings of the eternal tradition of Vedic wisdom.
Global Good News will feature more of the 5 November Festival of Lights celebration, including further highlights of Maharishi's 2003 address, of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam's address in the Golden Dome, as well as other speakers.
