Maharishi Garden Village in Rendlesham, Suffolk, Great Britain, has been expanding rapidly, with new Vastu homes being built according to principles of Vedic architecture, residential courses being offered, and plans nearly completed for a Maharishi Peace Palace.
After the recent construction of six new homes, the number of Vastu residences in Maharishi Garden Village totals 56, including apartments, single houses, and two-family houses. Only two out of 24 apartments have yet to be sold, and all but one of the houses is occupied. Also in the village is a special garden at the Brahmasthan, or geographic centre, a feature which is meant to establish greater coherence in the community.
Ultimately a Maharishi Peace Palace will be established in the community to accommodate guests and course participants. In the meantime, up to 60 guests can be accommodated in the Vastu homes of permanent residents, and plans are in the works for more immediate temporary housing to be established such as small cabins.
A brochure has already been created detailing the many upcoming course offerings at Garden Village, including expert speakers to lecture on all areas of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's knowledge. Also, guests will be able to visit the community to practise the Transcendental Meditation Programme and Yogic Flying in large groups.
