Every year in October, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi celebrated Victory Day with his worldwide Transcendental Meditation organization via global satellite broadcast. In his address on 18 October 1999, Maharishi linked the principle of invincibility with the qualities and reality of Total Knowledge dawning in individual life and in the life of the whole society, through his Vedic Science and Technologies of Consciousness.
A video of Maharishi's historic address from 1999 was played 22 October 2010, following the recent Victory Day celebrations of the Global Country of World Peace.
In his address Maharishi said that in Heaven on Earth, everyone's life will be in waves of bliss. That is our undertaking, he said, and 'we are celebrating the possibility of Heaven on Earth for everyone in the world, because from the platform of Vedic Science and technology it is completely within our reach for everyone to always maintain life in the waves of bliss.'
Total Knowledge of Natural Law, Maharishi said, which administers all life in the whole diversity of creation, is the Constitution of the Universe, the Veda, Total Knowledge. Maharishi explained that today is the day to celebrate victory: the celebration of the ability of individuals and groups of individuals—the ability of nations or countries—the ability of the individual and the whole world consciousness—'that every individual is cosmic in its potential.
'Every grain of creation and the intelligence within every grain of creation has the potential of cosmic intelligence,' Maharishi said. The Vedic expression of this reality is Aham Brahmasmi, 'I am the Totality.' Every individual can now live this reality. 'It is a reality in the field of consciousness; it is a reality in the field of materialized value of consciousness, the physiology, of the individual and of the whole universe.'
This is not something one has to achieve, Maharishi said. 'It is the reality that one is. And in this perspective we have perpetual victory. Life is a continuum of eternal victory. So today is the day of victory continuum, eternal victory. That is the reality of life.'
In the coming days Global Good News will feature a second article with highlights of Maharishi's 1999 Victory Day address.
