In September Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, and Raja Paul Potter, Raja (Administrator) of Canada for the Global Country, toured eastern Canada.
They started in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and visited the very beautiful islands in northern Nova Scotia owned by the Global Country, named 'Islands of World Peace' by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, which he intended as the venue for Global Parliaments of World Peace.
Throughout their tour, Dr Morris and Raja Paul met with local Teachers and practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Programme. Dr Morris commented recently on 'the feeling of great enlivenment and great hope for the future that arises, when the most enlightened people of each city gather together with their National Directors and the Raja of their country'.
Speaking on 4 October, Raja Paul showed slides of their tour, including meetings with leaders involved in teaching Transcendental Meditation to students of First Nations tribes.
In Ottawa they reviewed progress in several areas, including programmes for First Nations groups, introducing Transcendental Meditation in local health programmes, and offering Consciousness-based Education in local high schools. It was especially fulfilling in these settings, Dr Morris said, to reflect on 'all that Maharishi has offered and accomplished for the world'.
Global Good News will feature a second article about Dr Morris and Raja Paul's tour in the coming days.
