The 50th anniversary of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's first visit to Switzerland was recently celebrated in Seelisberg, at the International Capital of Heaven on Earth overlooking Lake Lucerne, from where Maharishi administered his worldwide organization for over a decade.
Maharishi visited Europe for the first time 50 years ago. He had been teaching Transcendental Meditation in England, and in 1960 he visited Switzerland twice, traveling to different beautiful places in the country.
At a second event celebrating this 50th anniversary, a Maharishi Gandharva Veda concert was held in the Grand Assembly Hall of the Capital. The renowned Maharishi Gandharva Veda flautist, Mr Binay Krishna Baral, gave a special recital. Flute students attending a Maharishi Gandharva Veda course, taught by Mr Baral in Seelisberg in August, also took part in this concert.
An article about the beautiful, profound effect of this Maharishi Gandharva Veda concert appeared a local newspaper.
'There was a very touching moment in the concert,' commented Raja Felix Kaegi, Raja (Administrator) of Invincible Switzerland for the Global Country of World Peace.* 'Mr Baral plays the flute so divinely, sweetly, and at the same time powerfully, that while sitting with closed eyes, floating on the waves of the sounds coming from his flute, it very much recreated an atmosphere . . . of what Maharishi once said about Seelisberg: that when we are all assembled together in coherence, in unity, in harmony, with a single focus, from this one place—just this small group, about 300 people, we can change the destiny of mankind to be a very fortunate, very bright destiny.'
When we are experiencing and creating from Transcendental Consciousness** [the Unified Field of Natural Law], Raja Felix continued, expressing Maharishi's thought—practising 'the Transcendental Meditation Programme and Yogic Flying together—even a small group, completely coherent, has the power to change the world'.
Global Good News will feature the continuation of Raja Felix's address in the coming days.
* Raja Felix spoke on the 6 September Maharishi Global Family Chat, which is broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
** The silent, unbounded field of pure, Transcendental Consciousness is at the basis of all the activity of the mind. Regular practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique allows the direct experience of Transcendental Consciousness in a systematic, repeatable way, while simultaneously bringing deep rest and release of stress to the body. Scientific research over the last 40 years has shown the great value of this experience.
