In the scenic mountains of West Virginia in the USA, 90 miles (145 kilometers) west of the nation's capital in Washington, DC, construction is underway on the Maharishi Purusha Capital of the Western World, the permanent home of the Maharishi Purusha Programme. About 80 guests and supporters attended a visitors' day on 12 June 2010 to see the first building in place.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and the Global Country of World Peace, designed the Purusha Programme for men who wish to dedicate themselves fulltime to the most rapid development of higher states of consciousness and to creating world peace through group practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying. A major role of the Purusha Programme is also their administration through silence, fulfilling the goals of the Global Country of World Peace in 192 countries.

Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country, explained that Maharishi envisioned a proper place for Purusha, with beautiful views, where it is silent and private, and where they will be attending to the 192 countries of the world from the level of their own inner silence. 'This [Purusha Capital] was absolutely important, an essential ingredient' in Maharishi's plan for creating Heaven on Earth.

Raja Robert LoPinto, a Raja (Administrator) of the Global Country, and one of the leaders of the project, said, 'Maharishi gave very specific goals and design guidelines that we have been holding to firmly in creating this capital for Purusha.'

The buildings are designed according to principles of Maharishi Sthapatya VedaVedic architecture in accord with Natural Law. Architects created a custom modular system with thick walls and natural insulation for silence, as well as energy efficiency. The air circulation system will completely replace indoor air six times per hour, while maintaining a comfortable temperature year-round.

Each 6,000 square foot (557 square meter) residential building contains nine comfortable suites. In one week, an entire building can be constructed in the factory. Once on-site, assembly takes two to three days, followed by installation of the roof and finish work.

The immediate goal, says Raja LoPinto, is to complete 90 suites and the dining hall so that all of Purusha can move in by the end of the year. 'There is an incredible window of opportunity right now to construct these buildings at very low cost.'

The Purusha Capital will generate a powerful influence of coherence for the nation's capital, and for the world.
