Education leaders in Europe and around world 'proactive' on Consciousness-Based Education

European countries—and countries throughout the world—have become more receptive to Consciousness-Based Education, and more proactive about introducing the programme in schools, said Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, recently.
Dr Deans made these comments on the concluding day of the recent European National Directors' Conference for the Global Country of World Peace, in MERU, Holland.
Dr Deans gave the example of prominent European university. When he first suggested some time ago that students begin practising the Transcendental Meditation Programme, the university president said that students liked the idea, but that it would be difficult to implement. Now, the same president has begun actively organizing for the establishment of a Consciousness-Based Education programme. 'This new proactive attitude among educational leaders reflects a positive shift in collective consciousness,' commented Dr Deans.
He also reflected on a pattern of success of Consciousness-Based Education programmes in primary and secondary schools, where the school principal learnt the Transcendental Meditation Technique first. 'Once the principal experiences the value of this technique, it is far more likely that he or she will organize for the implementation among students, faculty, and staff.' He cited the example of a school in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the principal, only two weeks after learning Transcendental Meditation, organized for 80 staff and faculty to learn, and is now providing for an additional 80 staff as well as students to begin the programme. 'Today, schools not only want the programme, but they're taking active steps to put it in place,' Dr Deans said.
The report about Dr Deans' presentation at the National Directors' Conference in Holland was given by Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, on the 15 May 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat. The Global Chat is broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
