Interest is high among students, faculty, and leaders at a renowned military college in the United States to learn the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
Dr Robert Roth, National Director of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace in the US, recently visited the college, where he met with its president, who is a general in the military, as well as other staff and students. 'Everyone I spoke to seemed eager to implement Transcendental Meditation, asking when they would be able to start,' he reported on Maharishi Global Family Chat.*
'Transcendental Meditation,' said Dr Roth, 'will provide these young men and women with the resilience necessary to face the difficulties of war.' He noted that programmes have already been offered to soldiers preparing to go to war, as well as among veterans suffering from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)—but this will be the first time the technique is taught to soldiers in training.
'The ultimate goal, of course, is to create a Prevention Wing in the military, to create invincibility for their nation so that war becomes obsolete,' continued Dr Roth. 'Teaching Transcendental Meditation to military students, however, is a significant first step.'
* Dr Roth's report was featured on the 6 April 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
