Thirty people from very diverse backgrounds have learned the Transcendental Meditation Programme in Pakistan in just the past few weeks, and interest is growing among Transcendental Meditation practitioners and Yogic Flyers to establish local invincibility assemblies to create coherence and harmony in national consciousness.

A new Transcendental Meditation Teacher, Dr Ashok Kumar, described achievements of his first six weeks of teaching in Pakistan, and how happy and fortunate he feels in his role of offering the supreme knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in his country.*

Practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying in his city are happy to have a new Teacher, he said. Together they want to create a local invincibility assembly.

There is a new emphasis on regularly practising these technologies of consciousness together as a group, 'because this is only the thing that [will make] our country peaceful, harmonious, and invincible', Dr Kumar said.

In just one and a half months, Dr Kumar has taught Transcendental Meditation to over 30 people—and the majority are practising together in one place every day, in the morning or evening as their schedules allow.

The group is comprised of people from all walks of life: doctors, MBAs, shopkeepers, and several who are illiterate.

'Our people are very thirsty for this supreme knowledge, this higher level of consciousness, and this supreme technique from Maharishi,' Dr Kumar said.

Several leaders of organizations have invited Dr Kumar to work with them, and interest is expanding to other provinces.

'Really, my people need this,' he said—knowledge which is capable of creating 'prosperity, stability, harmony, and permanent peace—not only in Pakistan but for the whole globe'.

In the coming days, Global Good News will feature the continuation of Dr Kumar's talk, in which he discusses the potential for Consciousness-Based Education and communities of Yogic Flyers.

* Dr Kumar's report was featured on the 11 February 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
