On 29 January 2010 Pakistan Observer reported: Militaries throughout the Middle East now have the opportunity to make use of Invincible Defence Technology (IDT)--which utilizes the Transcendental Meditation Programme and its advanced techniques to create an indomitable influence of peace, harmony, and security for any nation. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of world peace.

'A new technology of defense is now available that has been scientifically shown to prevent war and create peace by harnessing the deepest level of nature's functioning,' the authors report.

'Scientists postulate that the underlying cause of war is accumulated social stress. As social stress builds, groups take sides, diplomats become unable to resolve their differences, and enemies arise within or outside the nation.'

Although the intervention of armed forces 'temporarily solves the problem for the victor, the social stress remains, fueling future cycles of conflict', the authors continue.

'Today, the militaries in the Middle East have an opportunity to overcome the cycle of war by deploying a scientifically verified technology of defense that neutralizes social stress. This technology is based on the unified field of all the laws of nature—the most fundamental and powerful level of nature's dynamics.'

The Transcendental Meditation Programme and advanced techniques of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi are 'systematic subjective technologies' that allow practitioners to experience and enliven the unified field. These programmes have been 'successfully applied by members of many faiths to eliminate conflict', the authors report.

Extensive scientific research published in such journals as Social Indicators Research and Journal of Offender Rehabilitation confirms the effectiveness of these technologies at both a local and global level. The authors highlight one such study demonstrating a reduction in international terrorism of 72 per cent.

More than 50 studies show that when a sufficiently large group of experts—more than the square root of one per cent of the population—practises these technologies together, coherence, security, and invincibility rise within that region.

Militaries of countries throughout the Middle East could succeed in their mission to protect their nations by establishing a group of IDT experts—a Prevention Wing of the military. The Prevention Wing would only need to comprise a number of military personnel greater than the square root of one per cent of the country's population.

A group of only 1,717 experts would be sufficient to create a powerful influence of peace, harmony, and coherence for the entire Middle East, the authors conclude.
