More people learning Transcendental Meditation in Canada

The number of people enjoying the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme is growing in Canada through schools, university student clubs, information on the Internet, and live demonstrations of increased brainwave coherence through the technique.

Seven high schools in Canada have adopted Consciousness-Based Education, Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Canada for the Global Country of World Peace reported.*

In addition to a First Nations Consciousness-Based Education programme,** one of the schools Raja Paul highlighted was the Maharishi School in Victoria. It was founded over 20 years ago and has been gradually expanding, adding new grade levels over the years to extend to the secondary level, he said.

Consciousness-Based Education will be further enlivened through the visit of Dr Ashley Deans, Ambassador of the Global Country of World Peace for Consciousness-Based Education, and Executive Director of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment, who will be travelling in Canada in January.

Dr Deans will to speak at schools and universities, and will visit the new student Transcendental Meditation clubs that are forming at some of these universities, Raja Paul said.

In addition, Transcendental Meditation is expanding through increased availability of information online. All of the Maharishi Invincibility Centres*** across Canada now have their own websites and blogs, Raja Peter reported.

Teachers of Transcendental Meditation from Vancouver attended the conference about EEG coherence during Transcendental Meditation, held in MERU, Holland in December 2009, Raja Peter continued. They are now using an EEG machine to give live demonstrations of increased integration of brain functioning during introductory talks about Transcendental Meditation. These demonstrations have inspired many more people to learn the programme.

Four Transcendental Meditation Teachers also became practitioners of Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems this past year and are offering it with great success, Raja Paul concluded.
