Iceland: Many continuing to learn Transcendental Meditation, inspired by Dr David Lynch visit

The visit of Dr David Lynch to Iceland last May continues to inspire many people in the country to sign up to learn the Transcendental Meditation Technique.

The project started in June, following the visit of Dr Lynch with Sigurjón (Joni) Sighvatsson, an Icelandic film producer from Hollywood.

Since then, weekly advanced lectures are also being held for all those practising Transcendental Meditation, to present the knowledge of all Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes. A weekend residence course with 20 participants was also held.

One school with 1100 students is beginning Consciousness-Based Education; other schools have expressed interest in introducing the programme.

Dr Lynch's book, Catching the Big Fish, is being translated into Icelandic. Speaking on 18 November, Raja Tom Stanley, Raja of Invincible Iceland for the Global Country of World Peace, said they hope to have it published in time for the Christmas holiday season.

Raja Stanley gave his report about activities in Iceland on Maharishi Global Family Chat, which is broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
