In a beautiful global web broadcast on 23 August 2009 from MERU, Holland and India, the Global Country of World Peace celebrated the day of removal of obstacles to progress and evolution. Maharishi Vedic Pandits performed special traditional Vedic recitations in honour of this auspicious day in the Vedic Calendar, and Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, addressed the assembly.
A highlight of today's celebration was the video replay of two beautiful, historic addresses by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, on this occasion in previous years. Maharishi's address from September 2007 was played during the celebration; earlier in the day, the Maharishi Channel also broadcast his address in 2005.
Please see 'Celebrating . . .' for highlights of Maharishi's address on 5 September 2007. During his address, Maharishi praised the success of the Maharishi Vedic Pandits' recitations, which enlivened the special qualities of this auspicious day, removing obstacles to enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for every nation:
'From the world of conflicts and uncomfortable complexities to the world of purity—the field of Being—from the field of becoming to the field of Being, all the obstacles were cleared today. . . .
'So today has been the day of clearing the passage, and the long journey from infinite diversity to absolute unity has been cut short. . . .
'It is a beautiful day of clearing the destiny of mankind so that the quality of all national life everywhere shines through invincibility.
Speaking from the International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in MERU, Holland, Raja Harris Kaplan, Raja of Invincible India, opened the celebration by introducing the Maharishi Vedic Pandits at the Global Capital of World Peace at the Brahma-Sthan [geographical centre] of India, as well as the group of Pandits in MERU, who all together began the celebration with their traditional recitations.
Following the Vedic Pandits' recitations, Raja Harris introduced Maharishi's 2007 address, and summarized and commented on it afterwards. He invited Maharaja to address the assembly, and concluded with praise and appreciation for Maharaja's remarks and for the Pandits' perfect performance.
In the coming days, Global Good News will feature more about today's celebration, including Maharaja's address.
