Father Gabriel Mejia expands programmes, promotes invincibility for Latin American countries

Latin America has seen more promising new developments in the application of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes in the areas of social assistance and rehabilitation.

Father Gabriel Mejia, a Catholic priest who directs 47 shelters for homeless children and youth offenders in Colombia and throughout South America, will be hosting a continental congress in Argentina for all of his communities. Global Country of World Peace leaders will also be invited to the event, to discuss further implementation of the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programmes within the therapeutic groups managed by the religious organization of Father Mejia.

The meeting will place special emphasis on the expansion of Father Mejia's programmes in Central America, including Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Panama. 'The implementation of these communities practising Transcendental Meditation, in addition to the Consciousness-Based Education programmes already established within Central American countries, will create a strong basis for invincibility within the region,' commented Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Invincible Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace.

Father Mejia is also a Teacher of Transcendental Meditation, and as part of his rehabilitation programme at the youth centre in Colombia, he has taught the technique to all 3,500 of the children in residence. He received an honorary doctorate of World Peace from Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA in June of this year.
