On Guru Purnima Day, a digital monthly newsletter was launched to share news of the blossoming of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes in India.
The newsletter 'will be sent to over 300,000 individuals by e-mail every month', Dr Girish Chandra Varma* said in his Guru Purnima address. Dr Varma presented the printed copy of the first edition.
Dr Varma also discussed the success of a news service launched earlier this year on 12 January. During the last six months, the online news portal has had 25,000-30,000 hits each day, 'which is considered to be a very good number of hits for a new news portal in India,' Dr Varma said.
They have a team of about 50 managers, editors, correspondents, and reporters, soon to increase to about 500 countrywide, and are working to make this a prime portal for all of India and the world. Future plans include the release of a monthly magazine.
In the coming days, Global Good News will feature the conclusion of Dr Varma's talk. Please see Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V, and Part VI of this article, to read Dr Varma's inspiring account of achievements in India this past year, presented earlier in his address.
*Dr Girish Varma is National Director of the Global Country of World Peace for India. He is also Director-General of the Global Capital of World Peace at the Brahma-Sthan [geographical centre] of India, Chairman of the 160 Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group, and President of Maharishi Institutes of Management and Information Technology, in India.
