23 July 2009
On 13 July 2009, as part of the extended global celebration of Guru Purnima in MERU, Holland, Raja Lucien Mansour, Raja of Invincible Dominica, Syria, Lebanon, and Belgium for the Global Country of World Peace, summarized recent progress towards achieving invincibility in these countries of his domain.
Raja Lucien began by expressing his feeling that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is 'ever present in our minds and hearts, and it is this . . . which guides us in every step towards achieving invincibility for every nation of our dear world.' He then proceeded to reflect on the main accomplishments within Syria and Lebanon.
Syria The National Director of Syria held a successful lecture on Transcendental Meditation at a cultural centre in Damascus, which received coverage from national press and television. Following this lecture, he was invited to give a live talk on television, as well as a lecture at the Finland Institute and Cultural Centre.
Global Country of World Peace leaders delivered a presentation to 70 teachers and staff members of a school in Damascus, which was received very well. Also, a series of three lectures has been organized to be delivered at a prominent private university in Syria.
The number of people learning Transcendental Meditation has risen substantially in Syria, thanks in part to a beautiful new Transcendental Meditation Centre which the National Director and his wife have acquired.
Lebanon Multiple schools in Lebanon have agreed to introduce Transcendental Meditation into their curriculum, with the number of students in those schools totalling 4,000.
Two well-attended conferences were held by Global Country of World Peace leaders at the UNESCO Palace in Lebanon.
A new Transcendental Meditation Centre recently opened in the nation's capital of Beirut.
Global Good News will feature more of Raja Lucien's report, about Dominica and Belgium, in the coming days.
