Realizing Maharishi's vision for Russia and the world: 'Build beautiful cities for a beautiful life for everyone'

Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding for building Maharishi Garden Cities in Russia, the builder spearheading the project addressed the gathering in MERU, Holland at the International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace.

Speaking in Russian, Mr Micho Michanovich, a Teacher of Transcendental Meditation who owns his own very successful construction company, said that their goal is what Maharishi Mahesh Yogi told them many times—'to build beautiful cities for a beautiful life for everyone'.

Mr Michanovich also said that there is great interest from investors in this project, and he looks forward to everything continuing without any problems or obstacles.

Ms Janete Viksne, the Russian architect for the project, said that even though there is economic crisis all over the world, this is just the time to build a Vastu Garden City. She has had much experience building for different economic levels of society and all kinds of houses. Her company has a lot of experience building in St Petersburg and in Southern Russia.

She said that 70% of the population are in need of good housing. She first learned about Maharishi Sthapatya Veda ten years ago, but at that time was very busy with other buildings. Now this is the right time, she said, and she 'would like to build beautiful cities for the people of Russia'. She expressed her gratitude 'for being able to come and be with the leaders of the Ministry of Architecture of the Global Country of World Peace and for all their skill and expertise.'

'With this we are taking back to Russia a beautiful package of knowledge, and will be making presentations to investors and the government so that Maharishi Garden Cities becomes a national project in Russia,' she said.
