Unity at the basis of diversity: Vedic garden design in MERU, Holland expresses total Natural Law

A large Polish garden magazine recently published an article on the beautiful International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in MERU, Holland.
The Capital has also been known for many years as the residence of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, and the article featured Maharishi's house and Vedic garden, designed and built according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
The magazine reports that Maharishi's garden is about one hectare in size and was created on a Mandala diagram, which represents the harmony of the universe. In the garden the Royal Chakravarti diagram was used. It is composed of concentric squares formed of boxwood hedges placed around the Brahma-sthan [auspicious central point], and symbolizes the absolute, life-giving centre and source of Natural Law. A fountain marks this central spot.
Outside this composition on the main axis of the building, a model of a Maharishi Vedic Observatory has been placed. 'The Vedic Observatory,' the article says, 'inspires the viewer to think about and experience the very precise order of the universe.'
The only sounds that can be heard in the garden are the songs of birds, the rustle of leaves, and the murmur of fountains. Only quiet electric cars are used, and silent robots charged with solar energy mow the lawn. No chemical substances are used.
The magazine article mentioned that flowers and flowing water purify the atmosphere from stress and create a positive influence in the garden. 'Maharishi loved flowers,' the article said, 'and often used them to illustrate his lectures. ''A rose,'' Maharishi would say, ''has soft, red petals, green leaves, a hard stem, and thorns, but these are all unified in the colourless sap.'' Unity at the basis of diversity was the message of his teaching.'
Visitors come from all over the world to attend seminars on Vedic knowledge at this location in MERU, Holland, where beams from the garden's four spotlights create a structure of light, symbolizing the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace.
