On the occasion of the signing of the memorandum of understanding for building Maharishi Garden Cities around St. Petersburg in Russia, Purusha* Raja Avinoam Barkol, who has lived in Russia and speaks Russian, introduced the Russian delegation who recently visited the International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Vlodrop, Holland.

First Raja Avinoam introduced Mr Micho Michanovich, an experienced teacher of Transcendental Meditation from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who has taught over 5,000 people. For the last 16 years he has lived in Russia and is the owner and director of a very successful construction company.

Janete Viksne, a very well known and experienced architect in Russia, was born in Latvia but moved to St Petersburg due the beauty of the city and her desire to study architecture in one of the most renowned architectural institutes. Her specialization is in city planning. She has her own company with the name Renaissance in Russian, and has worked for many big and important projects in St. Petersburg and southern Russia, and with the government.

Janete has known Micho Michanovich since 1993 because at that time, Maharishi sent a group of teachers of Transcendental Meditation to Russia and Micho went to the city of Sochi, on the Black Sea, where he met Janete. They have been working together since then, and now they have joined together to fulfil this goal of the first Maharishi Garden City in Russian, and perhaps the biggest in the world, Dr Hartmann said.

Dr Hartmann added that when Janete came to Vlodrop, the first thing she said was that 'in Russia we don't do small things. We only do large projects. It has to be at least 10,000 homes in each Garden City.'

* Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has explained that Purusha means the Self, the quality of infinite silence of the Unified Field of Natural Law. Maharishi designed the Maharishi Purusha Programme for men who wish to dedicate themselves fulltime to the most rapid pace of evolution and creating world peace, through extended group practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, and through their administration through silence, fulfilling the goals of the Global Country of World Peace in 192 countries of the world. Several members of Purusha are Rajas of the Global Country with universal domain.

Global Good News will feature further articles about the Garden Cities in the coming days.
