Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Canada for the Global Country of World Peace, recently reported on the success of the first World Peace Assemblies held for practitioners of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Technique and Yogic Flying on Salt Spring Island* off the coast of Vancouver, Canada.

Speaking on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, Raja Potter said that these assemblies mark the initial fulfilment of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's vision for this beautiful location. In an address in October 2007, Maharishi said that this should be a place for guests to come and enjoy Heaven on Earth.

A year before the World Peace Assemblies, on 21 October 2007, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi addressed via satellite those assembled at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria and in locations across Canada who had gathered in honour of the 46th anniversary of Maharishi's first visit to Canada.

Raja Potter quoted Maharishi's address on that occasion:

'It's a very beautiful memory, that you have ignited in me. . . . When I see how I landed in Canada, and when I see today . . . what Heaven on Earth you have purchased in Canada . . . . Let the world listen to a description of the home of Heaven on Earth in a beautiful, spectacular view on the island by the side of Vancouver. . . . '

Maharishi continued: 'Describe to them and let me enjoy the waves of this unprecedented beauty on earth.'

Continuing his talk, Raja Potter said that Maharishi lovingly referred to Salt Spring Island as 'Holy Ganges Island'. Maharishi said:

'It is meant to be the Capital of Heaven on Earth, and that will be your guesthouse for people from all over the world to come and see the Capital of Raam Raj on the Island of Ganges, pure Ganges in Canada. . . .'

It is a beautiful expression of Maharishi, Raja Potter commented, about the memory of coming to Canada, and the fulfilment of this land on the Island of Ganges, Salt Spring Island—an area Maharishi first blessed on 17 October 1961.

Global Good News will feature the continuation of Raja Potter's talk in the coming days.

* Salt Spring Island is the largest and most developed of the Gulf Islands off the coast of Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada; Ganges is the name of the largest village on the island.
