'The goal set by Maharishi has now been achieved', said Raja Robert Wynne, Raja (Administrator) of Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, 'this week we will have more than 1000* Vedic Pandits in America'. On 27 September 2008, Raja Wynne made this historic announcement on the Maharishi Channel to viewers around the world. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, had expressed the desire two years ago for at least 1,000 Maharishi Vedic Pandits to create a powerful influence of coherence and bring invincibility to America.
Raja Wynne praised the contributions of Dr Jefferson Aikens who has worked tirelessly to provide for every need of the Vedic Pandits since their arrival in Vedic City. He referred to Dr Aikens' remarkable skills in organizing for such a large group with only a small staff of five people. 'This is only possible', Raja Wynne remarked, 'because Dr Aikens practises Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme twice daily; this gives him the spontaneous ability to do less and accomplish more.'
Raja Wynne said that through Maharishi's training, the Vedic Pandits were true representatives of the age-old Vedic tradition they represent. The Vedic Pandits make a very special contribution to the Invincible America Assembly through their participation in group practice of Yogic Flying, and their very powerful and unique daily Vedic performances to enliven coherence in world consciousness.
Raja Wynne also applauded the achievements of Dr Lou Hraha, who has been involved in every phase of construction and maintenance of the Maharishi University of Management buildings and was largely responsible for the rapid pace of construction of the Vedic Pandit facilities in Maharishi Vedic City.
'We are thinking of campus beautification now. It is a very good feeling to have come this far, but this is not the end. We are going to keep expanding all the time. From our side we are always attentive to continue so that progress is made and there is permanent invincibility for America', Raja Wynne said.
He outlined plans for affordable condominiums to be built soon in the vicinity of the Maharishi Peace Palace in Vedic City. This area will become the centre of Vedic City, with retail outlets providing for all the daily needs of the residents and participants of the Invincible America Assembly. Raja Wynne was very pleased to announce that for as little as $40,000US, a condominium could be built with comfortable living space for one or two people. Larger units could be built for those who required more space. The units will begin to become available within the next five weeks, with roads being put in place to provide easy access around the campus.
Acknowledging Raja Wynne's momentous achievement and the contributions of all those who worked with him and who had donated to support the project, Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communications of the Global Country of World Peace, said, 'It is such a wonderful achievement, such great news that you have reached this point of maturity in fulfilling Maharishi's programme at this time in the history of the world, and particularly when the future leadership of America is being decided. You are creating a truly Vedic civilization there in the heartland of America to ensure the future invincibility of America and the safety of the whole world'.
* When the full contingent of 1,050 Maharishi Vedic Pandits is in residence, this will ensure at least 2,000 Yogic Flyers practising together morning and evening on the Invincible America Assembly in Maharishi Vedic City and Maharishi University of Management in nearby Fairfield, Iowa—the threshold number Maharishi established as the requirement to create invincibility for the United States.
