Speaking on Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Benjamin Feldman, Minister of Finance and Planning for the Global Country of World Peace, addressed the second day of the global Guru Purnima* Assembly in MERU, Netherlands. In the latter part of his address, Dr Feldman elaborated on our responsibility as recipients of Maharishi and Guru Dev's** knowledge.

He began: 'Now that Maharishi's physical presence is not with us, we are reminded more than ever why we were drawn to him; not only though his programmes, but through every word, action, and stroke of administration he managed to remind us of our status as individuals who are cosmic.'

Dr Feldman went on to praise Maharaja Adhiraj Raja Raam for revealing to us our own cosmic nature on the level of modern science. 'Through his work, as well as that of physicist Raja John Hagelin, modern scientific reality has become the prism through which we can view the eternal Vedic tradition of knowledge. When collective consciousness rises sufficiently, the totality of knowledge will awaken in its fullness the most modern and ancient knowledge together, and this knowledge will continue to consolidate and grow forever, creating Heaven on Earth.

'Out of the six billion people in the world, we had the fortune to receive this disclosure of knowledge that fits everything in its right place, right perspective, and right proportion, and is filled with the light of God. How fortunate we truly are, and how responsible we have become out of necessity. As Maharishi said, we can't get rid of the responsibility of honouring the knowledge that we have received from Guru Dev; how could we not enjoy this possibility, when it would be like not enjoying ourselves?'

We can fulfil this responsibility, continued Dr Feldman, through simple focus: first and foremost on our daily practice of the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programmes, including Yogic Flying, and also by ensuring that we have sufficient friends around us to gather momentum and strength as we evolve to higher states of consciousness. We must also focus on establishing institutions to provide future generations with Maharishi's programmes. He also reported on plans to issue bonds for building facilities for the Global Country of World Peace. 'If we uphold these goals in our minds and hearts, we will accomplish them very quickly,' said Dr Feldman, in conclusion. He extended a very warm welcome to all the Assembly participants and expressed the hope that 'these days will be full of enlightenment and joy in every way'.

*Guru Purnima is the special celebration in honour of the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge, on the full moon day in July, celebrated globally this year on 18 July. The Assembly in MERU extended from 14-25 July.
