The Global Country of World Peace recently celebrated the grand inauguration of the new Maharishi Resort in Chihuahua, Mexico. The celebration—featured on a special Maharishi Global Family Chat and broadcast live around the world via satellite and over the Internet on Channel 3 of the Maharishi Channel—was one of the great initiatives undertaken worldwide by the Global Country of World Peace on Akshaya Tritiya, the auspicious Day of Lasting Achievements in the Vedic Calendar.

The celebration featured a gathering in Chihuahua, Mexico, which included a delegation of government and education dignitaries, leaders of the Maharishi Resort project, Teachers of Transcendental Meditation, and Yogic Flyers, connected via videoconference with the Rajas and Ministers at the International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Netherlands.

The celebration was hosted by Dr Benjamin Feldman, Minister of Finance and Planning of the Global Country of World Peace, speaking from Holland. The first part of the celebration was conducted in Spanish, with very moving expressions of welcome, congratulations, and good wishes for the project by the delegation of government and education leaders, as well as appreciation and gratitude by leaders of the Maharishi Resort.

Before translating their comments into English for the international audience viewing the Global Family Chat, Dr Feldman explained that the Maharishi Resort is in Chihuahua, Mexico, near the border with the United States in the state of Texas.

'The Maharishi Resort has 140 Maharishi Sthapatya Veda rooms, with their adjacent facilities for dining and practising of Yogic Flying and meeting. By air it's one and a half hours from Houston, Texas, two hours from Dallas, and thereby connected internationally with the whole world.

'On this very special occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the Day of Lasting Achievements, the Teachers of Transcendental Meditation in Mexico, accompanied by the Municipal President, Mr Fernandez, the Mayor of the city to which this resort is adjacent—Cuauhtémoc, a city of 100,000 inhabitants—are joining us, connected by videoconference. Mr Fernandez is accompanied by the Rector, the President of Universidad Regional del Norte (regional university of the north), Dr Daniel Garcia. In inaugurating this resort we have heard their beautiful words, and those of many others. They are accompanied by a very senior delegation of officers of the city and the region, and our distinguished builder who has built this resort is there.

'We have received very beautiful welcoming words from the Mayor of the city, thanking the Maharishi Resort for setting itself in such a beautiful area of his municipality. He has offered all his support—he has seen the resort just come up without any need for support of the municipality, but he feels to offer that support in the future. And he feels very happy with the shared division of life in accord with Natural Law—many initiatives of the government of Cuauhtémoc reflect the efficiency of Natural Law being enlivened by the Maharishi Resort, for example the savings of energy; and he looks forward also to the agricultural activities, the development of
Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture in this 6,000 acre (2,400 hectare) resort that has been built in Chihuahua, Mexico.

'From the President, Rector of Universidad Regional del Norte, we have also heard a very moving welcome that has touched our hearts here in Holland, as well as those of everyone there in Mexico. Dr Garcia expressed the great joy he feels in watching the educational vision that emerges from this construction in the state of Chihuahua, for the youngsters of any part of the world who would come.

'Dr Garcia feels it's a great success of the great commitment that is expressed by this building, and for all the youngsters that will come out to the world anew with a foundation of spirituality that is scientifically based. He looks forward to seeing these buildings full of youngsters from everywhere, and from Mexico, to learn the knowledge that is being offered by the Maharishi Resort.

Dr Feldman also noted that the 'great builder of Mexico', who had spoken earlier in the celebration, is also responsible for the new Maharishi Peace Palaces that were inaugurated recently at Maharishi University of Management, in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, 'and he is a great builder of enlightenment and invincibility around the world.

'I would like very much to have the blessings of the Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace (Dr Bevan Morris), of Maharaja Adhiraj Raja Raam's administration—of the silence that is lively in every field of life, and provides the beautiful foundation for enlightenment of every individual and invincibility of every nation. The Prime Minister has enjoyed the Spanish portion of this broadcast, but now that we are connected to all over the world it will be a joy to have him address both this inauguration, and the world as a whole, through Maharishi's Global Family Chat.'

Global Good News will feature the comments of Dr Morris in an article in the coming days.
