Presenting Maharishi European Sidhaland in England

Presenting the facilities and programmes of Maharishi European Sidhaland* in England, one of the longest-running communities of Yogic Flyers in the world.

Inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the Maharishi European Sidhaland was established in 1980 as a community dedicated to individual enlightenment and world peace. The aim of the community is to expand to a population that enables 800 individuals to practise Yogic Flying together twice a day.

Facilities include the Maharishi Golden Dome for the practice of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying, the Maharishi School, a business centre, the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre, and a Sports and Arts Centre.

The Maharishi Golden Dome was opened in 1988 by Member of Parliament Kenneth Hind as Britain's first custom building for the group practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying.

The Dome now includes many features of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda , the ancient Vedic science of building and planning in accord with Natural Law, and has a 3,500 sq ft area for Yogic Flying within the Main Hall, plus a stage and seating areas for courses, conferences and special events. There are two smaller meeting rooms, and dining rooms which can seat 80 course delegates.

The Maharishi School has been established in the community since 1986 and currently has 110 pupils. A few minutes daily practice of Transcendental Meditation helps the pupils and teachers develop their innate intelligence and creativity. Exam results of the school's GCSE classes has placed them top of the 'league tables' for Lancashire, and in the top 1% of all the schools in England and Wales which is remarkable for a school with a non-selective intake.

Maharishi Ayur Veda Health Center offers luxurious natural health treatments. Besides regular health check-ups with a trained practitioner of Maharishi Ayur Veda, the team at the Centre provides the traditional Ayurvedic purification therapy of Panchakarma. For a totally relaxing and revitalising experience many visitors combine a few days of Maharishi Panchakarma with a restful course in the Dome.

Woodley Park Sports and Arts Centre has been designed and built according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda and is a showpiece building visited by many architects, planners and urban environment professionals. As well as the Maharishi School's morning art classes and afternoon sports sessions, the Centre hosts a range of evening and weekend leisure activities for children and adults. The venue is ideal for small concerts and as a location for seminars and conferences.

Beacon House Business is within the same Woodley Park estate as the Dome. The office accommodation houses several successful companies and the national offices for Transcendental Meditation Communications and for Maharishi Ayur Veda Products.
