David Lynch on the softening of audiences due to the Invincible America Assembly

Dr David Lynch, award-winning filmmaker and founder of the David Lynch Foundation for the promulgation of Consciousness-Based Education in the United States and around the world, has been travelling the globe for the past two years. In that time, in addition to opening art shows, he has given many remarkable presentations on Consciousness-Based Education in world-class venues, and spoken about his book 'Catching the Big Fish' in which he describes his experiences with Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation.

Speaking of his experiences facing live audiences, Dr Lynch commented on the change in receptivity he has found in the last two years.

Recalling when he first spoke at the University of Michigan two years ago, his impression at the time was that students were surprised: Why is a film,maker talking about meditation? As the evening progressed, it began to make sense to them, but Dr Lynch felt they were more interested in film than in meditation.

Since last September, he has appeared at times with Dr John Hagelin and with singer-songwriter Donovan, all over Europe in such diverse places as Venice, Rome, Milan, Berlin, Paris, London, Denmark, and the Netherlands, and in the US in Boston, New York, Seattle, San Fransisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, and Austin Texas.

'Every time now when I talk about film, half of the questions are about meditation,' said Dr Lynch. 'It's phenomenal how it's gone from not wanting to hear about this to very much wanting to hear about this—to very much leaning forward, yearning to hear about meditation. And large groups talking about meditation when they could be talking about film. They just want to know more and more about this technique and why it is so good, and then finally: Where can I get it?'

He speaks eloquently about the 'golden glow' the audiences take on after participating in these events.

Dr Lynch noted that Maharishi attributes the beautiful transformation now taking place in the US and other countries to rising positivity, rising coherence in world consciousness, due to the Invincible America Assembly. There is less chaos, more orderly thinking, and it will become more and more charming to hear about all of Maharishi's programmes for gaining Total Knowledge, universal bliss, immortality, world peace, and Invincibility.
